Can She Get Any Cuter??

Oh how I love my little girl!!! She is so much fun to watch learn and grow. She can always make my day no matter what. The day she was born, I didn't think I could possibly love her any more. However, I have learned that that isn't true. Everyday my love for her grows immensely in some way. I have decided that you don't truly understand how much your mum loves you - till you have a little one of your own!!!

Lately Madilyn has discovered so many fun & new things. She loves to be goofy and make us laugh. She has learned the things that she can do to make us laugh. It is so cute!!! And if we don't notice what she is trying to do, she will start fake laughing. CHEEKY LITTLE GIRL.....

So I thoroughly enjoyed this weekend. Nothing too exciting happened at all. But it was just a good time together with my little family. Which I love. It went something like this......

Friday Night

• Dinner & Movie with my hunny: we made homemade pizza and watched a movie. Always a good time.

Saturday

• It all started with Madilyn sleeping in. (YIPEE - what a great start to a weekend!!)
• Then for breakfast Mikey made us pancakes - FROM SCRATCH!!!! Which I have to admit I was extremely surprised. AND.....they were so yummy. Madilyn and I are spoiled!!
• Then we got all bundled up and went outside to play in the snow!!! For a short bit, cause it was pretty stinkin' cold. It was so cute to see Madilyn all bundled up in her snow gear. However, she wasn't too sure about the snow pants.
• Then we got ready and went to town. We met up with Mum, Dad, and Marky for lunch. Then went on to do some shopping.

Sunday was just a relaxing day!! Afternoon nap, and a visit to Grandma & Grandpa's!!! GOTTA LOVE IT....

OH HOW I LOVE WEEKENDS WITH MY HUBBY & MY LIL GIRL!!!!!

"Walking in a Winter Wonderland....."

So this weekend we were officially SNOWED IN!!!! Friday afternoon it started to snow, and it kept snowing and snowing. Needless to say by Saturday morning, we were completely snowed in!!! There was NO way we were going to be going anywhere, or anytime soon!!! So what do you do on Snow Days?? Well here are a few things of what we did on our Snow Days.....

#1: We watched the snow fall. Madilyn thoroughly enjoyed standing in the living room window, and watching the snow fall.

#2: We drank too much hot chocolate!!!

#3: We got into the Christmas oranges.

#4: We ate too many sweets.

#5: We got a little stir crazy. So while Madilyn was napping, Mikey and I went outside for a Snow Race through the enormous snow drifts in the yard. AUSSIE vs. CANADIAN style!!!! It was the most entertaining, fun thing I have done in a long time. Mikey got all geared up at the starting line, and off he went. Running full tilt through the knee high snow drifts, across the yard. I stood there "timing him", in complete awe as I watched my Aussie plow through the snow!!! I then realized that this idea maybe wasn't so great after all!!! I totally thought that I, being The Canadian, would be able to out beat The Aussie fair and square. Needless to say, I lost - hard core. I literally got stuck in the hugest snow drift out by the highway. It was up to my waist - no lie!!!! However, I have come up with the conclusion of why I lost. And it is either A. I am WAY too outta shape, or B. Mikey has WAY too much excitement in him!!!! Anyways, it was definitely a good time!!!

#6: We made the best gingerbread house ever!!!

#7: We watched out the window as my wonderful father came to plow us out!!! What a life saver.

And the funniest part of our Snow Days, was:

#8: Mikey COMPLETELY covering his car with snow!!!! lol. It was just a minor misunderstanding. Haha. It goes something like this....

While my dad was over plowing us out, he mention that we should keep the snow around Mikey's car, so that it would help keep it insulated. Which would make his car more likely to start when he needs to go to work. So anyways, Mikey had gone outside for quite some time. And he later came in with the proudest look on his face. And I was like, "Umm...what have you been up to?" And he's like, "oh I just put snow on my car to insulate it!!"

Me: "Oh good thinkin."

Mikey: "You should go take a look."

Me: "Oh, Ok!!"

Me: "BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....is that a joke Mikey!?!?!"

Mikey: "Umm....no. Why??" (with the most worried look on his face.)

Me: "I am thinking that is not exactly what my dad had in mind. But who knows."

Long story short, this is what I saw when I looked outside. POOR AUSSIE.......

(And YES, Mikey's car is somewhere under this enormous mound of snow!!)

However, I will have you know that it was a great idea after all. It insulated his car very well. And it started right up - that is once he found his car again!!! Even with a temperature of -50 with the wind chill.

It's Monday and I am signing in for another post.  This last weekend we went away for the  Black Friday Sales.  Lindsey the dedicated shopper she is, enjoyed getting the odd bargain here and there in the early hours of the morning. Now that is dedication.  Madilyn had sooo much fun shopping as well, just like her mum.  When we where in Target, Madilyn and I had the most fun walking through the toys and showing her all the fun toys.  As I was able to show her all these toys she was so excited and busy talking, whistling and grabbing stuff - wanting all the toys in sight.  It was an awesome experience to share in the excitement with Madilyn. And I look forward to doing that more often.  Madilyn either loves all the toys or loves to shop or maybe even both, we will see.....

Tonight while giving Madilyn a bath, which she loves, she has discovered the world of BIG splashes. She no longer does her little baby splashes. It is so fun to watch her as she splashes her hands in the water with almost half the water splashing out of the tub.  Bath time has certainly become more splashing!!!  

Also as you are all aware - Christmas is almost here!! And so we have been trying to introduce the Christmas cheer to Madilyn.  So tonight before Madilyn's bedtime we watched a little movie called Merry Madagascar.  It was funny and entertaining - atleast for the 5 mins Madilyn was interested. I look forward to more opportunities like tonight, to enjoy this festive season with my little family and see the excitement in Madilyn's 1st Christmas....

Getting Ready....

So first off, a couple of you are probably wondering if Mighty Mike is OK?!?! I am here to report that indeed he is just fine!!! However, I am also aware that he was "unavailable" on Monday to do his blog. And I may or may not have some part of that. After we got Our Little Angel to sleep, I put Mighty Mike to work. I have been wanting to put up our Christmas tree for over a week now, and just haven't got around to it. I have had all the other Christmas decorations up for a week, but not Our Poor Little Tree!! I had been debating if I really wanted to put up a Christmas Tree this year with our busy little girl. But I figured for her first Christmas - she must have a Christmas Tree. So that is what we did. I had Mikey bring it up from the basement, and we spent the next several hours bringing back to life Our Poor Little Tree. Long story short, but last year my darling sister-in-law gave us one of her old Christmas Trees. Very thoughtful and kind. However, this little tree didn't have much spark left in it!! Several of the bottom tree branches have fallen/broken off. But no worries - we have made it do. And it looks FANTASTIC!!!!

I have been busy getting things ready for Christmas. (This is the only advantage of having family so far away.) It gets me crack-o-lackin!!! I have pretty much done all of my Christmas shopping, wrapped presents, and got packages sent off to family down under. I'm on a roll!!! Now, BRING ON THE SNOW!!!!

I am pretty excited for Christmas this year. It is going to be so fun to watch Madilyn on her first Christmas morning. As her and her little cousins get so excited cause "SANTA WAS HERE!!!" Can't hardly wait....

Madilyn so far has enjoyed getting ready for Christmas. We have been listening to Christmas music constantly for about a month now, and she absolutely loves it!!! She starts to wiggle and dance, which is priceless. She is quite the little dancer!!! So Madilyn and I went over to mum's to 'help' her decorate. And Madilyn was fascinated with all mum's darling decorations. And now every time we go over there, Madilyn gets so excited over the music and all the decorations. So cute - I LOVE HER!!!!

I've Been Thinking.....

I have been thinking lately.....this blog is just as much Mike's as it is mine. So.......I have come up with the idea that from now on - Mondays are Mike's day to post something on our blog!!! I know I know, kinda scary. I was a little worried too when this thought came to my head. But I figure it will make things a little more interesting around here.

So, as today is Monday - I guess we will get started on our "MIGHTY MIKE'S MUMBOJUMBO"....(this is what we are calling his posts from now on.)

So I'm officially now in the world of blogging. And I have never even seen a blog before. And I definitely did not sign up for this. But hey - I'm going to give it a go and just maybe I'll become a pro at it.  But also, if you have any tips on "How to Blog" it would be great, or maybe a book "Blogging for Dummies".  Hahaha, the tips will be great anyways as I make the most of my blogging experience.  

I know that you all will be hanging out at your computer every Monday to see what MIGHTY MIKE'S MUMBOJUMBO is all about. Really its gonna be awesome....

So I have a lot of info on the motherland Australia. And as much as I love being in Canada, I still love Australia too.  I was able to meet Lindsey in Australia and see more of it in those months than I ever did in the many years I was there waiting for her.  I enjoy being able to share the experience's with Madilyn and ever wonder if she will pick up on my Aussie accent. It is exciting to watch everyday as Lindsey and Madilyn play and giggle. Everyday at the end of work I rush home to see my gals.  Today as I walked in, there was Madilyn busy playing with her toys. And when she heard and saw me, she came crawling as fast as she could and was a very happy gal to see her Dad. To me...this is heart wrenching and makes it a joy to come home to my gals. No matter how your day is, you will always have someone at home to lift you up....I'm one happy man... 

WELL HELLO AGAIN - LONG TIME NO SEE!!!

So it's been a little while. And I have decided that I am officially the worse blogger ever!!! But hopefully not for long. There has gotta be someone out there that is worse than I am at this whole blogging thing. Plus, I am gonna work on it and try and be better. I mean, I have an adorable little girl that can give me so much to talk about. I really have no excuse!! I have spent the last several days trying to decide where to start, and it is just way too overwhelming. So I have decided that I will just start with TODAY!!! And when I have the chance I will do some catching up from the past!!! So here we go.....

Today is Wednesday, as well as Remembrance Day. And Mikey had the day off. We have just spent the day together at home. It has been really nice. We have had fun playing inside as well as going outside for a little adventure. We went out to see the horses and to just walk around by all the old buildings. And of course I couldn't fight the urge to do a photo-shoot of Madilyn. So here are a few pictures of my little darling, while out on our adventure and just playing around the house!!
